About Mark W. Gordon
Mark W. Gordon has been studying his family's history since 1975, with a focus on northeastern Poland, Galician Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and the Nordhessen region of Germany. Family tree branches reach back to c.1600. Mark can read genealogical documents in German, Hebrew, Polish and Russian and has successfully obtained family records from eleven different countries. He has completed six ancestral trips to Europe since 2003.
Mark has a B.A. from Reed College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Since 2003, he has been a Principal of Urbana Consulting, LLC, providing advice to the real estate industry, local government and special improvement districts on transit-oriented development and public/private partnerships. Mark previously served as Senior Director of Real Estate and Economic Development at New Jersey Transit. He began his career at the White House Office of Management & Budget and the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations. Mark is a longstanding board member of Greater Newark Conservancy and the Newark Preservation & Landmarks Committee.
